Privacy Policy
Mootmap has no accounts and asks for no password. This page says exactly what leaves your browser when you use it, where it goes and how long it stays there. Last revised on 5 October 2026.
The short version
- The picture is computed in your browser from public X posts.
- We store a result only when you ask for a share link, and delete it after 30 days.
- The counter of pictures made receives a random number, never a username.
- Visits are measured only if you agree, and only where measurement is switched on.
- Ads come from Google AdSense and Adsterra. Adsterra banners load only if you agree; Google ads are personalised in Europe only with your consent.
Who runs the site
Mootmap is run by Filippo Pelloia, who is the data controller for the little that is stored. For anything about your data, write to support@mootmap.com.
What happens when you make a picture
The username you type is sent from your browser to FxTwitter, an independent service not operated by us or by X, which returns the public posts of that account. FxTwitter receives the username, your IP address and the usual technical details of a web request. We do not receive those requests and keep no record of the usernames typed.
Profile photos are loaded from X's image server (pbs.twimg.com), which therefore receives your IP address. If your browser cannot load a photo directly, it is requested through our image relay instead: a restricted path that fetches only public X profile photos and keeps a copy in the hosting provider's cache for up to 30 days.
The ranking, the highlights and the picture are calculated on your device. Downloading the PNG, the story picture or the video sends nothing to us.
Advertising
The site is free and paid for by advertising. Banners from Adsterra are loaded only after you accept the cookie notice; when one loads, Adsterra and its ad partners receive your IP address and the address of the page.
Advertising also comes from Google AdSense. Its script is loaded on every page: Google receives your IP address and the technical details of the request, and may use cookies or similar identifiers to show and measure ads. Like any ad on the web, it sees the address of the page you are on; the ranking and the pictures you make are not sent to it. Consent, cookies and how to switch off personalised ads are in the cookie policy.
Share links
When you press Copy link or Post on X, the result you are looking at is saved so the link can open it: the usernames, display names and profile photo addresses of the account and of the people shown, their scores and counts, the highlights, your style choices and the PNG used as the link preview. It is stored under a random ten-character ID for 30 days and then deleted automatically. Anyone who has the link can open it during that time.
To have a shared result removed earlier, write to support@mootmap.com with the link.
The counter
Each completed picture adds one to a public total. For that, your browser sends a random identifier created on the spot, used only to avoid counting the same picture twice and deleted after eight days. No username, no result and no IP address is written to the counter.
Hosting and security
The site and the service behind share links run on Cloudflare. As with any website, the hosting provider processes IP addresses and request details to deliver pages and to block abuse. Our own code uses the IP address only to limit how many requests one connection can make per minute, and does not save it.
Measurement and cookies
Where visit measurement is enabled, Google Analytics is loaded only after you accept it in the notice shown on your first visit. Until then no measurement script runs and no cookie is set. Your choice is remembered in your browser and can be changed from Cookie settings in the footer. See the cookie policy.
People who appear in a picture
The tool works on information that is already public on X, and it can be used on any public account. If you appear in a shared result and want it removed, write to support@mootmap.com with the link and it will be deleted. Because we keep no list of generated pictures, we cannot find results that were only downloaded.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data about you, and to object to its processing. Since there are no accounts, the only data we hold that can be tied to a person is what is inside a share link during its 30 days. To exercise a right, write to support@mootmap.com.
Changes
If the way data is handled changes, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it.
